We are a group of (medical, public health, humanities) students who believe in something other, and more, than what the constructs of science & medicine have offered up to us. We’re keen on building a community that shares our vision of new, creative futures. As part of this ethic, we are pleased to present BAD SCIENCE – a radical, feminist, anti-colonial, anti-capitalist open access e-zine. See our website for more info: badsciencezine.wordpress.com
We seek to destabilize, explode and passionately, determinedly resist the (racist, sexist, ableist, classist, homophobic, heterosexist, transphobic, imperialist, patriarchal, white-supremist, settler-colonial, capitalist) hegemonies that exist in science & medicine. Other ways of doing science and medicine are possible: systems that centre community, poetry, intimacy, revolution, social justice, ecological sustainability, liberation, and love.
Send us a pitch, 200 words or so, on any topic that takes up these principles. We welcome personal essays, narrative essays, lyric essays, poetry, fiction, interviews, book reviews, film reviews, visual art, new media, and otherwise. Qe invite submissions from artists, activists, writers, researchers, thinkers, lovers, friends, and students of all programs and at all levels of training.
Please send us your pitch by august 1, 2016
